Dharmanagar, Tripura, 10th of March, 2026 : In recognition of their notable work during the financial year 2025–26, a district-level felicitation ceremony for ASHA workers and ASHA facilitators of North Tripura district was held on Tuesday. The programme was organized by the District Health and Family Welfare Department.The event took place at Ardhendu Bhattacharya Smriti Bhavan in Dharmanagar, where ASHA workers and health staff from different parts of the district were present.The chief guest of the programme was Assistant Sabhadhipati of North Tripura Zilla Parishad, Bhabhatush Das. Also present were District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura, Chandni Chandran (IAS), Chief Medical Officer of the district, Dr. Dipak Halder, and several other dignitaries.
During the programme, selected ASHA workers and ASHA facilitators of the district were honoured with mementos in the presence of the distinguished guests.One of the major highlights of the event was the distribution of 10 e-bicycles among ASHA facilitators. According to the organizers, these e-bicycles were provided to make health service activities in remote areas more dynamic and accessible.Speakers at the event highlighted the dedication and hard work of ASHA workers and their crucial role in rural healthcare. Their contributions in maternal and child health services, vaccination programmes, and public health awareness campaigns were particularly appreciated.At the end of the programme, the honoured ASHA workers and ASHA facilitators expressed their gratitude to the administration for the recognition and pledged to continue serving people with dedication in the future.
