Drunken Youths Run Amok! Restaurant Worker Assaulted In Busy Area.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 4th of March, 2026 : Amid the festive cheer of Holi, an incident of assault created a stir in Dharmanagar town on Wednesday. A restaurant worker was allegedly brutally attacked by a group of unidentified youths in the Kalidighi Par area of Dharmanagar during the Dol festival.According to reports, Santosh Nath, son of Subal Nath and a resident of East Huruya, Ward No. 3 under Shonichhara area, has been working as a cook at Amrit Restaurant located at Kalidighi Par for a long time. Like any other day, he arrived at the restaurant on Wednesday. It is alleged that shortly afterward, 2–3 borne youths suddenly arrived at the spot and launched a physical assault on him.The injured Santosh Nath stated that he could not the accused. He claimed that the youths appeared to be intoxicated and attacked him without any provocation.

As a result of the assault, he sustained serious injuries to his face and head. With the help of local residents, he was immediately taken to Dharmanagar District Hospital, where he received primary treatment.Following the incident, Santosh Nath lodged a written complaint at Dharmanagar Police Station, demanding a proper investigation and strict action against those responsible.The attack in a busy locality like Kalidighi Par on the day of Holi has sparked public outrage. Many residents have raised concerns over security arrangements during the festival and questioned the role of the police administration. It is learned that an investigation has been initiated based on the complaint.Such an untoward incident on a festive day has left locals worried about the law and order situation in the area. All eyes are now on the administration to see how swiftly the accused are identified and brought to justice.
