Dharmanagar, Tripura, 16th of February, 2026 : Rajesh Das and Ratnadeep Das, two local farmers from the North Tripura district, have achieved remarkable success in floriculture. Recently, the District Development Manager (DDM) of North Tripura visited their flower cultivation plots. During the inspection, he expressed satisfaction after observing the well-organized farming practices, high-quality production, and efficient marketing systems.

In particular, Rajesh Das has set an inspiring example in the area. Through dedicated efforts and modern cultivation techniques, he is earning approximately ₹15–16 lakh annually from floriculture. The various varieties of flowers and decorative foliage he produces are regularly marketed in Agartala as well as in different markets of the neighboring state of Assam. As a result, he has established a strong presence not only in the local market but also in inter-state trade.

Ratnadeep Das is also progressing steadily in the field of flower cultivation. Their farms include both seasonal and perennial varieties of flowers, widely used for local events, religious ceremonies, festivals, and decorative purposes. The use of quality saplings, proper irrigation systems, and regular maintenance ensures consistent production standards.The DDM stated that the potential for horticulture -based livelihoods in North Tripura is steadily increasing. With proper planning, technical support, and assured market linkage, many more young people can become involved in this sector. He assured farmers of necessary guidance and assistance.This success story demonstrates that with the right initiative and perseverance, horticulture activities such as floriculture can play a vital role in strengthening the rural economy. The achievements of these two farmers from Panisagar have opened a new horizon for agriculture-based income in North Tripura district.
