Girl Students Take The Lead During Police Week In Dharmanagar.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 28th of February, 2026 : Dharmanagar witnessed a proud and inspiring moment today as part of Police Week–2026 celebrations. In a unique initiative, three meritorious girl students were entrusted with key leadership roles for a day — serving as the District Superintendent of Police, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dharmanagar Police Station, and the OC of the Women Police Station.The innovative programme was organized by the North District Police with the objective of strengthening police-public relations and boosting leadership skills and self-confidence among young girls.

As part of the initiative, a student from PM-SHRI Dharmanagar Government Girls’ School, Niharika Das, assumed the role of Superintendent of Police of North Tripura district for a day. Another student of the same school, Dipa Debnath, took charge as the Officer-in -Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station. Meanwhile, eighth-grade student Rupanjali Dey served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Dharmanagar Women Police Station.After assuming their responsibilities, the students visited various sections of the respective police stations. They gained firsthand knowledge about record maintenance, complaint registration procedures, law and order preparedness, and public service activities.

Police officials briefed them on different aspects of daily administrative work and emphasized the importance of leadership, discipline, and a sense of responsibility.Police officials and guardians present at the programme highly appreciated the confidence and enthusiasm displayed by the students. According to them, such initiatives will inspire the younger generation towards public service and further strengthen the message of women’s empowerment.Through this remarkable initiative during Police Week, Dharmanagar truly witnessed the dawn of a new horizon filled with pride and promise.
