New Delhi, Delhi, 26th of January, 2026 : Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) marked the Republic Day with solemn pride and patriotic fervour at its premises, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to strengthening India’s maritime defence capabilities and advancing national progress.

The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by GSL’s Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay, followed by a Guard of Honour presented by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). This was followed by the National Anthem, after which the celebrations continued with a vibrant cultural programme featuring patriotic renditions by the GSL Serenade group, cultural performances by school children, and display of Drill by CISF personnel.
Following the cultural segment, Shri Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay addressed the GSL fraternity. In his address, he reflected on the constitutional ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that continue to guide India’s democratic and developmental journey. He said that the Republic Day celebrations this year are being observed under the National theme “150 Years of Vande Mataram”, commemorating the enduring spirit of patriotism and unity inspired by the national song.
Shri Upadhyay underlined that GSL, as a premier defence shipbuilder under the Ministry of Defence, remains firmly aligned with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India, contributing decisively through indigenous shipbuilding excellence.

Sharing GSL’s forward-looking organisational roadmap, the CMD announced 2026 as the “Year of Process Optimisation and Institutional Agility” at Goa Shipyard Limited, guided by the mantra “One Process, One Decision, One Timeline”. He also urged employees to drive higher productivity, efficiency, and timely decision-making through standardized systems and improved processes.
The programme also featured presentation of awards to employees in recognition of their exemplary dedication and contributions.
