Agartala, Tripura, 24th of August 2025 : With the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Tripura organized Preparatory meeting on Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) and Sharad Samman-2025 at Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala, on Sunday (24th August, 2025). Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha presided over the meeting.

This year Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) ceremony will be held on October 4, 2025. This decision was taken in a preparatory meeting regarding Maayer Gaman and Sharad Samman-2025 at Muktadhara Auditorium today.
Addressing the at Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) Preparatory meeting Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has called upon the clubs of Agartala to participate in the Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) celebrations with more enthusiasm and enthusiasm. After Durga Puja, the Maayer Gaman celebrations and carnival will be held in Agartala on October 4. This decision was taken at the Goddess Durga Carnival and Sharad Samman-2025 preparation meeting today.

The Chief Minister said that should be learned from last year’s event to see where there were shortcomings in organizing the Goddess Durga Carnival. The problems should be resolved. The Chief Minister urged the representatives of various clubs to be more aware of noise pollution during the idol removal. Incidentally, the Chief Minister has directed the officials of the Public Works Department to repair the roads across the state before Durga Puja. He expressed the hope that more clubs will participate in the Mother’s procession this year.
Addressing at the Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) and Sharad Samman-2025 Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that that 608 Durga Pujas were organized in Agartala Municipal Corporation and premises areas last year. People participated in the Durga puja festival all night long because the law and order situation in the state is good. He expressed hope that this year too, the clubs will organize Durga Pujas in accordance with government rules and regulations and sought everyone’s cooperation.
Secretary of Information & Cultural Affairs Pradip Kumar Chakraborty delivered a welcome address at the inaugural session of Goddess Durga Carnival (Maayer Gaman) and Sharad Samman-2025. He said that last year, 46 clubs participated in the Mother’s Day program. Like last year, this year too, the main program will be organized in front of the the girls’ hostel of Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ H S School. He urged the representatives of various clubs to be more aware of noise pollution.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Secretary of the Health Department Kiran Gitte, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, Tripura State Cultural Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Subrata Chakraborty, West Tripura Zilla Saha-Sabhadipati Biswajit Shil, Senior officials from various departments, representative from various clubs, and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the event. The Secretary of the Health Department and IG Law and Order participated in the discussion.
