Agartala, Tripura, 12th of March, 2026 : With the initiative of the Fisheries Department Government of Tripura organized the 4th State Level Fish Festival, 2026 at Children’s Park, Near Maharani Tulsibati School, Agartala, Tripura on Friday (13th March, 2026).
In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu has inaugurated the 4th State Level Fish Festival by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 4th State Level Fish Festival Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu said that urged fish farmers to adopt proper scientific methods in fish farming to achieve maximum benefits. He also called upon the fish farmers of the state to participate in various national-level festivals to encourage and promote their work. At the same time, the Governor emphasized the importance of sending fish farmers to other states so that they can gain more knowledge about modern fish-farming techniques.
The Governor also added that to encourage fish farming, the department must take initiatives to ensure proper insurance and loan facilities for fish farmers and fish-producing organizations. He also stated that the department should adopt proper planning and work towards making the state self-sufficient in fish production.
Addressing at the event Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das said that the state government is taking various initiatives to make the state self-sufficient in fish production. A fisheries policy has been introduced in the state to promote the development of fish farming. He also said that people, especially the youth, are being encouraged to come forward and take up fish farming in order to become financially self-reliant.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, West Tripura Zilla Saha-Sabhadipati Biswajit Shil, Director Santosh Das and many other distinguished dignitaries were present at the event.
