Agartala, Tripura, 17th of March, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Monday (16th March, 2026). RPF & GRP, arrested Two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized contraband.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala, at about 2 PM managed to catch two person namely Saddam Hossain (27), S/O- Habil Miah Of Bhogajod, PS- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala, Tripura and Abid Hossain (19), S/O- Lt. Abdul Rasid Of Dhaliai, PS- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 60 nos bottle of suspected to be contraband narcotic drugs i.e CHOCO+ cough syrup in their pitthu bags.
The value of this CHOCO+ cough syrup is Rs- 60000/- approx in black market. Accordingly we have detained them and seized the contraband CHOCO+ cough syrup. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP016, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
