In The Governing Body Meeting Of The Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Chief Minister Announces Infrastructure Development Works Worth Nearly 200 Crores For Dental College.

Agartala, Tripura, 11th of July 2025 : The state government aims to transform Agartala Government Dental College into one of the premier educational institutions in Northeast India through infrastructure development and modernization of its academic system. This college is expected to play a key role in establishing the state as an educational hub shortly. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha made these remarks on Thursday (10th July, 2025) during the Governing Body meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital, held in the conference hall of the Dental College.

The Chief Minister stated that within a very short period, the government was able to commence academic activities at the college. Infrastructure development work worth nearly 200 crore is currently underway for the dental college. He emphasized reviewing progress on construction projects, including the hostels and other facilities, ensuring proper planning for new buildings, and maintaining cleanliness in the hospital premises. He also advised maintaining effective monitoring mechanisms to support the improvement of academic infrastructure at the dental college. Additionally, the Chief Minister inquired about the various activities undertaken by the Rogi Kalyan Samiti. He directed concerned officials to ensure proper services for patients at IGM Hospital and to give importance to the safety of patients’ relatives. Health Secretary Kiran Gitte discussed various initiatives including Ayushman Bharat, the National Protection Mission, and the activities of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of IGM Hospital in detail.

After the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha held a cordial interaction with the faculty members of the dental college. He stressed the need for faculty to work with greater dedication toward building a bright future for the institution. Others present at today’s meeting included Dr. Tapan Majumdar, Director-in-Charge of the Health Department, Dr. Salu Roy, Principal of Agartala Government Dental College; Kishore Sarkar, Assistant Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation; Ajit Kumar Debbarma, Superintending Engineer of the PWD; and various members of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti.
