Kamalpur, Dhalai, Tripura, 3rd of August, 2025 : With the initiative of Youth Affairs & Sports Department Government of Tripura organized inauguration ceremony of K. C Girls School Cricket Ground and celebrity T10 exhibition match between T.C.A and Bengal Tigers in collaboration with the Tripura Cricket Association at K. C Girls School Ground, Kamalpur, Dhalai District on Sunday (3rd August, 2025).
In the In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated K. C Girls School Cricket Ground today. The Chief Minister also inaugurated celebrity T10 exhibition match between T.C.A and Bengal Tigers.
Addressing at the inauguration ceremony of K. C Girls School Cricket Ground Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the current State Government is giving due recognition to talented players and creating suitable sports infrastructure for them. As a result, interest in sports is increasing among the children of the State. The Chief Minister said that during the previous government, talented players of the State were not given such opportunities. As a result, they lost interest in sports. The current State Government does not show any bias in sports. Deserving and talented players are being given opportunities to develop their talents at national and international levels. The Tripura Cricket Association is also working with talent regardless of party affiliation. The current Government is providing jobs through a transparent recruitment policy along with sports.
The Chief Minister also added that there is no dearth of talent among the players of the State. Currently, the players of the State are showing their achievements in sports at the national level. The State Government has taken the initiative to build one cricket playground in each subdivision of the State. As a result, the Chief Minister expressed hope that talented players will be produced in remote areas as well.
Addressing at the event Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Minister Tinku Roy said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the state’s sports infrastructure has been extensively developed. 9 synthetic turf football fields have been built in the state. Along with the football fields, cricket fields are also being built under the initiative of the Tripura Cricket Association. He said that 100 physical education teachers have been appointed in various Vidya Jyoti School for the sports training of students. In addition, the process of appointing 300 more physical education teachers is underway.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were MLA Manoj Kanti Deb, Secretary of Tripura Cricket Association Subrata Dey, Vice President of Tripura Cricket Association Upananda Debbarma, President of Kamalpur Cricket Association Rajendra Das and many other dignitaries were present at the event.
