Dharmanagar, Tripura, 21st of March, 2026 : With the upcoming Dharmanagar by-election drawing closer, the CPI(M) has intensified its campaign efforts. On Saturday, as part of the ongoing outreach program, a door-to-door campaign was conducted in the Uttar Nayapara area in support of CPI(M) candidate Amitabha Dutta. The candidate was accompanied by local party leaders and supporters.During the campaign, several issues faced by the general public came to the forefront.

Residents expressed their grievances directly, with many voicing dissatisfaction with the current government. One elderly resident alleged that under the present BJP-led coalition government, people are unable to express their opinions freely. He urged voters to elect CPI(M) candidate Amitabha Dutta with a large margin to restore a democratic environment.Residents also questioned what tangible benefits the people of Dharmanagar have received since the current government came to power, claiming that it has largely failed in ensuring public welfare. Key concerns raised included acute drinking water shortages, poor drainage conditions along roads, deterioration in the education system, and inadequate healthcare services. Frequent power outages were also highlighted as a major issue.CPI(M) Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Secretary Ratan Ray, along with other party leaders and workers, was present during the campaign.
The program witnessed significant participation from party supporters and was conducted in a vibrant atmosphere.As the by-election approaches, the political temperature in Dharmanagar continues to rise. Various political parties are stepping up their efforts to strengthen their positions, indicating that the electoral contest is likely to become more intense in the coming days.
