“Kumbh Girl” Monalisa’s The Diary of Manipur’ Faces Fresh Row; Complaint Filed at DN Nagar Police Station.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, 28th of February, 2026 : The controversy surrounding the upcoming film The Diary of Manipur, linked to “Kumbh Girl” Monalisa, has intensified after a formal written complaint was submitted at DN Nagar Police Station.

The complaint has been filed by Ms. Chander Kala Singh, President of the Maharashtra State unit of the Global Christian Action Committee (Women), against filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, proprietor of M/s. Sanoj Mishra Films. In her complaint, she has alleged that the film’s content hurts Christian religious sentiments and promotes disharmony.

As per the complaint, the accusations include deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings, insulting Christian beliefs, causing injury and insult to a place of worship, disturbing a religious assembly engaged in worship, uttering words intended to wound religious sentiments, and promoting enmity between different religious groups. The sections cited include 295, 295A, 296, 298, and 153A of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

In addition to filing the police complaint, Chander Kala Singh has reportedly demanded that the makers immediately remove the film’s teaser from YouTube, alleging that its content is objectionable and offensive to the Christian community.

Responding to the allegations, director Sanoj Mishra termed the complaint an “indirect attack” by his rivals. In a statement, he said, “This is an indirect attack by my dushmans (enemies). We believe in the law of this country. We are now in talks with our legal team and will reply in a formal way.”

Police officials have confirmed receipt of the complaint. As of now, no FIR has been publicly confirmed, and further inquiry is expected. The situation has sparked debate within film and social circles, with all eyes now on the legal course the matter may take.
