Agartala, Tripura, 19th of September, 2025 : 50 acres of land has been allocated by the State Government for the permanent establishment of the IIIT proposed by the State Government in the Khowai Chowmuhani area of Mohanpur subdivision of West Tripura district. This was stated by Hon’ble Panchayat, Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman in a written reply to a question by MLA Nayan Sarkar during the Question and Answer session of the Assembly on Friday (19th September, 2025). Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman said that plans have already taken to build a permanent infrastructure for IIIT in Khowai Chowmuhani. The Higher Education Minister said that since 2018, academic activities including studies of IIIT have started at the temporary campus of NIT Agartala.
