Agartala, Tripura, 7th of August, 2025 : More and more trees should be planted to maintain the balance of nature. The temperature of the earth is increasing gradually. Planting trees is very important to reduce the temperature. Everyone should plant a tree in the name of their mother, son or daughter or on their own birthday. Only then the balance of the earth will be maintained. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratanlal Nath said this while inaugurating a tree plantation program at Chinmoy Harijoy School premises in Fakirmura, West Taranagar, Mohanpur. The Agriculture Minister and other guests planted saplings of various trees in the school premises.

At the event, the Agriculture Minister said, everyone in the society has their own responsibilities. The number of people in the world is increasing. On the other hand, the number of trees is decreasing. To further encourage the tree planting program, the ‘Ek Per Maa Ke Naam’ campaign has been started. The people of our country have adopted this program to protect the environment and have become more enthusiastic about tree plantation. The Agriculture Minister urged everyone to plant more and more trees.

This tree plantation program was organized on August 6 as part of the ‘Ek Per Maa Ke Naam’ campaign initiated by Mohanpur Municipal Council. On the day saplings were distributed to the school students and their guardians on behalf of Mohanpur Municipal Council. Chairperson of Mohanpur Municipal Council Kanika Debnath, Vice Chairperson Shankar Deb, member of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Joylal Das, SDM of Mohanpur Subhash Datta and Councillors of the Municipal Council were also present.
