NSUI submitted a memorandum to the SP Traffic Police, Lake Choumuhani, Agartala on today (15th January, 2022). NSUI statement, “sad and inhumane incident happened on 13th January, 2022, as college students were allegedly attacked by few Tripura Traffic police due to the sudden breakdown of their motor vehicle in front of the convoy of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura. This was merely a small accident, but duty official persons arrested those students without any notice and tortured them mentally and physically”. NSUI demanded immediate action against the police officers. NSUI State President Samrat Roy and others were present.
