Gurugram, Haryana, 7th of August, 2025 : In a step toward enhancing urban sustainability and restoring the ecological balance of the NCR region, Omaxe Ltd. has adopted 10 acres of land in the Aravalli hills of Gurugram as part of the ‘Matri Van’ initiative launched by the Haryana Government.

Spanning 750 acres, Matri Van is envisioned as a large-scale urban forest to act as the green lungs of Delhi-NCR, improving air quality, preserving biodiversity, and creating a long-term nature haven for citizens. As part of this project, 150 acres have been entrusted to CREDAI, with leading developers like Omaxe stepping forward to take responsibility for individual parcels.
Omaxe will undertake plantation and maintenance of a lush green zone featuring native and medicinal species including Ficus (Peepal), Bael, and Tamarind (Imli)—trees known for their environmental, cultural, and wellness value. The initiative is not a one-time plantation drive; Omaxe will be responsible for ensuring the growth, upkeep, and sustenance of this green space until it evolves into a self-reliant ecosystem.
With a vision of creating long-term positive impact, the forest is expected to become a destination for health-conscious citizens, families, and tourists, offering a clean, shaded, and serene natural environment.
Mohit Goel, Managing Director, Omaxe Ltd., said: “We are honoured to be a part of the Matri Van initiative—an inspiring effort towards ecological preservation and environmental awareness. At Omaxe, we have always believed that green spaces are not just a social responsibility, but a core part of how modern townships should be designed. Every township and project we develop reflects this philosophy, with ample green zones that don’t just benefit the environment but also enhance the quality of life for residents. People today actively seek homes close to nature, making greenery essential not only for sustainability but also for long-term real estate value. Through our adoption of 10 acres under Matri Van and the plantation of native species like Peepal, Bael, and Imli, we are proud to support biodiversity and create spaces that breathe, heal, and inspire. This initiative is a natural extension of our ESG vision and our commitment to building future-ready, nature-integrated communities.”
This move is in line with Omaxe’s ESG goals and follows the brand’s consistent efforts to integrate green thinking into real estate development. From landscaped parks to tree-lined avenues and eco-sensitive townships, Omaxe has always advocated for projects that enrich both people and the planet.
