Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of August, 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 20th installment of Rs 20,500 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Varanasi on Saturday (2nd August, 2025).

On this occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath virtually joined the nationwide programme from State Agriculture Research Station, A. D. Nagar, Agartala respectively.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that 45.43 crore rupees to be transferred to the accounts of 2.85 lakh farmers in the state. The state government aims to implement various projects with transparency for the welfare of farmers. 2,25,335 metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased from the farmers of the State at the minimum price. The Government has transferred Rs 446 crore as the selling price of paddy to the bank accounts of the farmers. A subsidy of Rs 204 crore 52 lakh has been given to the farmers across the State for providing various agricultural machinery. Infrastructure development work is underway in 144 markets across the State for the sale of agricultural produce. The expenditure for this work will be Rs 300 crore 43 lakh.

The Chief Minister also added that special importance has also been given to organic farming in the state. 20 thousand 161 hectares of land have been brought under organic farming. The Current Government has increased the number of agricultural sectors from 44 to 130 for the welfare of farmers. Various assistance is being provided to farmers under the Chief Minister’s Crop Management Scheme. The State Government’s goal is to implement various projects with transparency for the welfare of farmers. Since the State Government is supporting the farmers by standing by them, the farmers are also standing by the State Government. Incidentally, the Chief Minister said that the State has made a lot of progress in all areas of agriculture, health, education, drinking water, law and order compared to the previous days. The Chief Minister urged everyone to come forward to make Ek Tripura Shreshtha Tripura and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.The Chief Minister handed over 7 soil health cards to the farmers at the event. He visited the stalls.

In today’s programme apart from the Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Acting West Tripura Zilla Sabhadipati Biswajit Shil, Chairmen of various Panchayat Samiti and Block Advisory Committees, Secretary of the Agriculture Department Apurba Roy, Director of the Agriculture Department Phanibhushan Jamatia, Director of the Horticulture Department Dipak Kumar Das and many others remained present in the programmes.
