Release Of State Disaster Management Plan And Inauguration Of Various Initiatives Of The Revenue Department At Secretariat, Agartala.

Agartala, Tripura, 4th of August, 2025 : With the initiative of State Government of Tripura the programme on Release of State disaster Management Plan and inauguration ceremony of various initiatives of the revenue department has been organized at Secretariat, Agartala in Tripura on Monday (4th August, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Release of State disaster Management Plan and the various initiatives of the revenue department by pressing a remote button.

Addressing at the Release Of State Disaster Management Plan And Inauguration Of Various Initiatives Of The Revenue Department in order to reduce the loss of life and property after a disaster, it is essential to use new technologies in rescue operations, as well as to create awareness among the general public. Moreover, it is also essential to develop the skills of workers and volunteers at various levels involved in rescue operations.

It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister unveiled the State Disaster Management Plan for the financial year 2024-25. Later, he inaugurated the Technology Demonstration Unit, Civil Defense Training Scheme, 26 Automated Weather Stations and Brain Gauges in the state, Disaster Management Equipment Verification, Portal and Change of Land Use (Diversion of Land) Portal online.

“The current era is the era of technology and AI. Therefore, it is necessary to give utmost importance to the use of technology and AI in disaster management. The state of Tripura faced cyclones Sitrang in 2022, Mocha in 2023 and Storm Remall in 2024 and devastating floods in 2018 and 2024. All these disasters have repeatedly reminded us of the need for advance preparation. The problems and shortcomings that remain in disaster management must be overcome quickly. It is important to review the management of relief camps in advance and take necessary measures.”, Chief Minister added.

The Chief Minister noted that the State Disaster Management Plan 2024-25 is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thousands of volunteers will be trained in the Technology Demonstration Unit to enhance their skills. Those who are the first responders in emergencies. He said that 2880 volunteers will be trained on the theme of Civil Defence Training. The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for selecting the state of Tripura for launching this project.

The Chief Minister  state that He said that accurate and timely weather forecasting is essential for disaster management. Therefore, 26 automated weather stations and rain gauges have been set up. There are plans to set up a Doppler weather radar station in Belonia in the coming days. Addressing at the inauguration of the New Equipment Verification Portal, the Chief Minister said that it will be possible to track the disaster management equipment stored in the districts, sub-divisions and TSR battalions through it. As a result, an idea can be gained about the current status and quantity of the equipment. Through the Change of Land Use Portal, it will be possible to make land conversion approvals easier, transparent and make the state more business-friendly.

Highlighting on the event, the Chief Minister remarked that the media builds a bridge between the Government and the people. It keeps people informed about the steps taken by the Government and the administration for public welfare. The Chief Minister expressed the hope that the media will continue to play a supportive role in preventing the spread of rumors and panic during disasters.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag, Secretary of Brijesh Pandey, Secretaries of various departments, District Magistrates of various districts and other officials were present at the event.
