Chandigarh, 5th of March, 2026 : In a powerful evening of theatre that resonated deeply with audiences, Rudra Kyra Productions LLP, under the leadership of Shuchi Singh, President of Rudra Kyra Productions LLP, successfully staged OUT OF FRAME at Tagore Theatre – Mini Auditorium, delivering an intense and emotionally stirring performance that revived the spirit of socially conscious art.

The 1-hour and 10-minute stage production, directed by acclaimed filmmaker and theatre director Amit Sanouria, drew visible inspiration from the timeless 1960s narrative style of the iconic film Pyaasa. Much like the film’s character Vijay—a poet rejected by society for speaking uncomfortable truths—OUT OF FRAME introduces audiences to Kabir, a rebellious artist who refuses to compromise with hypocrisy and injustice.
Actor Supreet Singh, who essays the role of Kabir, consciously adopted a restrained, poetic look inspired by the classic cinematic persona of the 1960s era—marked by quiet defiance, expressive silences, and emotional depth. This visual and emotional homage strengthened the play’s central theme: how society often brands truth-seekers as unstable, inconvenient, or dangerous.
OUT OF FRAME unfolds as a compelling social-psychological drama that examines the thin line between conformity and rebellion, truth and isolation. Kabir’s refusal to accept moral compromise leads to his alienation—from his family, the art world, and society at large—mirroring the tragic journey of artists who challenge social hypocrisy.
Supporting performances by Sayyed Alim and Suchita Sharma added further depth, creating a layered ensemble that amplified the play’s emotional impact. The minimalist set design, symbolic staging, and sharp lighting allowed the actors’ performances to take center stage, staying true to Sanouria’s vision of theatre as a space for raw storytelling rather than spectacle.
With over 17 years of experience in theatre and cinema, and recognition from the National Youth Festival, Amit Sanouria’s return to stage direction through OUT OF FRAME was widely appreciated. His background at the Madhya Pradesh School of Drama and film studies at Griffith University, Australia, was evident in the play’s cinematic pacing and visual restraint.
The evening concluded with strong audience applause and thoughtful reflection, as OUT OF FRAME compelled viewers to question their own silence toward social injustice.
By blending the soul of classic cinema with contemporary social realities, OUT OF FRAME emerged not just as a successful theatrical event, but as a reminder that honest art continues to challenge society—no matter the era. Under the guidance of Shuchi Singh, President of Rudra Kyra Production LLP, the production reflects the organization’s commitment to meaningful storytelling and socially relevant theatre.
