Killa, Tripura, 26th of September 2025 : The Pre-Cultivation Training Programme under the World Bank–aided TRESP project was successfully held today at Killa Block, becoming the 23rd block covered since September 2025 by the PIU (Agri.-Horti.) and DPMU, TRESP.
The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA, Shri Ram Pada Jamatia, in the presence of Shri Bagan Hari Malcham, BAC Chairman, and Shri Shubhendu Majumder, Superintendent of Agriculture, Killa Sub-division.
Shri Subrata Shib, Agri.-Horti. Specialist, PMU, TRESP, played a key role in guiding the training, supported by Dr. Siba Prasad Majumder and Dr. Dhrubajyoti Pal, consultants from TSA (Agri). The sessions highlighted scientific crop practices for 17 TRESP crops, along with nursery management, soil-less seedling production, pest-disease control, and nutrient management.
With active coordination by Shri Shantanu Majumder, Cluster Coordinator (Agri-Horti, Killa), and Shri Chandra Bhakta Jamatia, Accounts Officer, TRESP, the training reinforced TRESP’s focus on science-led sustainable agriculture for empowering local farmers.
