Agartala, Tripura, 6th of January, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday (6th January, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 120.720 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja).
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala at about 06 PM we managed to catch one person namely 1 Amir Ali (35), S/O-Md Ibrahim Ali of Nandan Nagar, ward no-04, PS- NCC, West Tripura at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01 in front of parcel office along with total 120.720 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja in white colour plastic sack bags.
The value of this Ganja is approximately Rs- 20 Lakh approx in black market. During preliminary interrogation he stated that he came to parcel office to send those sack bags by train through parcel. Accordingly Railway police detained him and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP003, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
