Agartala, Tripura, 30 of March, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Monday (30th March, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested three (3) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 13.250 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, at about 7 PM Railway Police to catch 03 persons namely 1) Sujit Majumder (42) S/O- Lt. Amal Majumder Of Bhatta Pukur near Suktara Club PS- A.D. Nagar, West District, Tripura, 2) Sri Shyamal Das (39) S/O- Sri Nitai Chandra Das Of South Pulinpur, Bivekananda Panchayet PS- Teliamura, Khowai District, Tripura and 3) Smt Sita Devi (36) W/O- Lt Rajendra Singh Of Hodla PS-Salanpur, Kulti (M), Dist- Badhaman, Kalyaneshwari, West Bengal at parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet of Agartala Railway Station along with total 13.250 KG of suspected to be contraband narcotic Ganja in their pitthu bags respectively.
The value of this Ganja is Rs-02 lakhs approx in black market. Accordingly apprehended them and seized the contraband narcotic Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP020, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
