Agartala, Tripura, 14 of March, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Saturday (14 March, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 26.575 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, at about 02 PM managed to catch two persons namely Abdul Kadir (30), S/O- Abdul Rasid of Indira Nagar, Ward no-09, PS- Melaghar, Dist.- Sepahijala, Tripura and Dipak Sarkar (37), S/O- Sri Subal Sarkar of Palatana, Ward no-04, PS- kakraban, Dist.- Gomati, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 26.575 Kg purported to be contraband narcotic Ganja in their trolley & pitthu bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 03 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly we have detained them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP015, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
