Agartala, Tripura, 22nd of November 2025 : On 21 November 2025, acting on specific intelligence received from DRI Agartala regarding the movement of a large consignment of Yaba tablets from Agartala towards Bishramganj via NH-08, a joint operation was launched by BSF and DRI. At about 0830 hrs, a Mobile Check Post was established in front of Gate No. 01 of SHQ BSF Gokulnagar. During checking, a Suzuki Eeco Van bearing registration number TR 01 CH 0353 attempted to evade the MCP and fled towards Udaipur via the Bishalgarh Bypass Road, prompting an immediate pursuit by the joint team.

At about 0930 hrs, the vehicle was found abandoned near Kalkaliya High School. The area was cordoned off and a thorough search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of ten packets of Yaba tablets weighing approximately ten kilograms and valued at around ₹8 crore. Additionally, three cartons of Etaddol 100/Tapentadol 100 mg tablets containing approximately 750 boxes (each box containing 100 tablets) worth ₹20,32,50/-, Indian currency amounting to ₹25,400/-, and the Suzuki Eeco Van valued at ₹1,50,000/- were seized. The total value of the seizure is ₹8,21,78,650/-.
In another operation in Sonamura, based on specific inputs BSF managed to seize 1 Kg of Yaba.
The seized items and the vehicle have been handed over to DRI Agartala for further legal action. The operation reflects BSF’s sustained commitment to curbing the narcotics menace along the Indo–Bangladesh border and underscores the strong inter-agency cooperation between BSF and sister organisations like DRI in combating cross-border smuggling and organised drug trafficking networks.
