Traditional Food Festival At IASE, Kunjaban, Agartala.

Agartala, Tripura, 20th of January, 2026 : As part of the weeklong celebration of Kokborok Sal, a Traditional Food Festival was successfully organised at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Kunjaban on 19 January. The event aimed to celebrate the rich cultural and culinary heritage of the state while fostering unity, creativity, and experiential learning among students.

The Food Festival was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ratna Roy, Principal, IASE, Kunjaban, in the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff members and the students of the institute.  Students enthusiastically prepared a wide variety of traditional food items and set up beautifully decorated stalls, which were open to students, staff members, and visitors attending the festival. The stalls reflected remarkable creativity and aesthetic sense, enhancing the overall ambience of the campus. The students’ teamwork, dedication, and organisational skills were highly commendable.

Dressed in traditional attire, the students served the food with humility and devotion, adding a distinct cultural charm to the occasion. The festival showcased the rich and diverse food culture of the state, offering a delightful blend of traditional and modern dishes. Popular items included spicy Bangwi, flavourful Tohen Masdeng and Gudok, delicious Pitha Puli, and refreshing traditional beverages, all of which were greatly appreciated by the visitors. Beyond the culinary experience, the festival featured live music, interactive moments, and a vibrant celebratory atmosphere. The aesthetic decorations and cultural elements created an engaging and memorable experience for everyone present. The event also served as an important learning opportunity for students, allowing them to unwind, socialise, and develop entrepreneurial skills. By collaboratively preparing, managing, and selling food items, students gained hands-on experience in teamwork, planning, financial management, and customer interaction. Overall, the Traditional Food Festival was a grand success and stood as a meaningful celebration of cultural heritage, student initiative, and community spirit.
