Traditional Procession Marks Shiv Chaturdashi, Devotional Fervour At Temple Premises.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 14th of February, 2026 : A grand and colorful procession was held on Saturday on the occasion of Shiv Chaturdashi at the century-old Shiva temple located at Shivbari in Dharmanagar. The temple premises witnessed a festive atmosphere from early morning as a large number of devotees gathered to offer their prayers.The temple courtyard was beautifully decorated with incense, lamps, bel leaves, and vibrant flowers. Amid the rhythmic beats of drums and the resonating sound of conch shells, devotees filled the air with chants of “Bol Bam,” creating a spiritually uplifting environment.

Participation in the procession was remarkable, with men, women, children, and elderly residents joining in large numbers.According to the temple committee, special rituals, Maha Aarti, and devotional bhajans and kirtans have been arranged for the next two days. Devotees will begin offering prayers to Lord Shiva from Sunday morning. In the evening, special arrangements have been made for ceremonial lamp lighting and Shiva Naam Sankirtan. To ensure the convenience of devotees, volunteers will be deployed for the distribution of prasad and to maintain discipline during the celebrations, organizers said.As in previous years, Shivbari witnessed a vibrant gathering of people, reflecting a spirit of unity and devotion. Members of the Shiva Temple Committee expressed hope that the festive spirit surrounding Shivratri at this historic temple in Dharmanagar will continue over the next two days.
