TRESP-PMU Trains Field Staff On Books Of Records To Strengthen Community Monitoring In West Tripura.

Agartala, Tripura, 6th of August, 2025 : In a significant initiative to strengthen on-ground implementation and record-keeping under the World Bank-funded Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP), the State Project Management Unit (PMU) organized a district-level training programme on Books of Records (BOR) for field staff in West Tripura.

The programme held at the Panchayati Raj Training Institute (PRTI), A.D. Nagar, the two-day training (5th–6th August) was attended by 31 staff members from the District Project Management Unit (DPMU) and Block Project Management Units (BPMUs) covering Belbari, Mandwai, Hezamara, Lefunga, and Jampuijala RD Blocks—spanning both West Tripura and Sepahijala districts.

The training was inaugurated by Sri Asit Kumar Das, ADM & Collector, West Tripura district. Addressing the participants, he engaged in a detailed interaction with Block Programme Managers (BPMs), reviewed block-wise activity progress, and appreciated the district team for their efforts in organising the event.The District Programme Manager (DPM) Ms.Mallika Debbarma has well coordinated the programme.

The technical sessions were facilitated by experts from TRESP’s Technical Support Agency, SDS. Sri Amitabh Guha, Institution Building Expert, and Ms. Arpita Roy led practical sessions focused on familiarizing staff with the prescribed BOR formats and procedures. Participants actively practiced hands-on entries, equipping them to support Producer Groups (PGs) in maintaining accurate and updated records.

Ms. Sonali Laskar, Institution Building & Social Inclusion Specialist, and Sri Abdur Rahman Choudhury, Training Specialist from SIPARD and Sri.Subrata Shib , Agriculture Specialist have represented the TRESP State Team. They provided field-level clarifications and briefed participants on the objectives and expected outcomes of the training. Ms. Laskar also addressed queries raised by BPMU staff regarding real-time implementation.

The training gains significance as over ₹3–4 crore has been channeled to community-level activities in West Tripura under TRESP, making proper maintenance and monitoring of BOR critical. The programme is expected to significantly boost the confidence and capacity of field staff, ensuring better support for PGs and enhanced accountability in project implementation.
