Triple Celebration Marks A Milestone Of Catholic Faith.

Amarpur, Tripura, 4th of January 2026 : Amarpur Parish witnessed a joyous and historic triple celebration today commemorating the Feast of St Francis de Sales, the Feast of St Joseph Vaz, and the Silver Jubilee of Catholic presence at Tingoria village under Amarpur Parish, Gomati Tripura.

The solemn occasion was graced by Rt Rev Lumen Monteiro DD, Bishop of Agartala, who presided over the Holy Eucharistic Celebration and led the Jubilee and feast day celebrations. His presence added spiritual significance and encouragement to the faithful gathered for the event.

More than 300 faithful, representing various substations of Amarpur Parish, participated actively in the celebrations. The liturgy, prayers, and fellowship reflected deep gratitude to God for 25 years of Catholic faith flourishing in Tingoria village under Ampi block. The Bishop, in his homily, highlighted the inspiring lives of St Francis de Sales and St Joseph Vaz, calling the faithful to live lives rooted in humility, service, and missionary zeal. He also appreciated the steady growth of the Church in the region and the commitment of the people over the years.

The Silver Jubilee celebrations stood as a testimony to God’s blessings and the perseverance of the Catholic community in Tingoria. Cultural programmes and moments of thanksgiving followed the Holy Mass, strengthening bonds of unity and joy among the parishioners.

This memorable celebration marked another stepping stone in the journey of Amarpur Parish, made possible through the dedicated leadership of Rev Fr Lijeesh Mathew MSFS, Parish Priest of Amarpur Parish, along with the cooperation of the parish council, religious, and lay faithful.
