Agartala, Tripura, 10th of September 2024 : Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee took oath as Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura at Parliament House in New Delhi on Tuesday (10th September, 2024).

Hon’ble Vice President & Chairman of Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar administered the oath of office to the Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee as the Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura.

Rajya Sabha seat had become vacant after former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha member Biplab Kumar Deb won the Lok Sabha poll from Tripura West Constituency this year. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee was elected to the Rajya Sabha.
BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee secured 47 votes out of total 60 votes in the Tripura Assembly. Out Of the total 60 MLAs, 57 members except the three Congress MLAs voted today. Rajib Bhattacharjee’s opponent, former CPI(M) MLA Sudhan Das, received only ten votes (from his party only).
