Agartala, Tripura, 14th of December, 2025 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has immense faith in Pristha Pramukhs and grassroots workers, and that the party will become stronger through trust in its leadership.

Dr. Saha said this while participating in the Pristha Pramukh Sammelan of Mohanpur Mandal, held at the ground of Mohanpur Class XII School.
Addressing the conference, Dr. Saha said that the main architect behind this programme is the local MLA and minister, Ratan Lal Nath.
“Our party is not like other parties. It is not about sitting around being serious, as seen in the Communist Party. They present themselves as ideological leaders. But we do not need ideological leaders as we are ordinary people who believe in the common people. I try to walk normally. I don’t want to forget my roots,” he said.

At the conference, Dr. Saha also shared details of his journey after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“After joining the BJP, I was sent to work as a pracharak. Later, I was given responsibilities such as in-charge roles like Pristha Pramukh. Then I was entrusted with the membership drive. I was asked how many members I could enroll. Without knowing much, I said I would enroll three lakh members. Later, the BJP enrolled seven lakh members in the state,” he said.
Dr. Saha said that communists do not truly accept democracy, even though they are forced to speak about it.
He emphasized that faith must be instilled in leadership at all levels, including Pristha Pramukhs, mandal presidents, district presidents, and other leaders.
“Only with this faith will our party become stronger,” he said.
“No matter how much they threaten, those who incite violence or rely on surrender forces think they will get relief in the future. But they will not. We have our leadership. Our guardian is BJP National President JP Nadda. Our guardian is Union Home Minister Amit Shah. And the guardian who looks after the entire world is Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Dr. Saha said.

Referring to the Kalyanpur incident, Dr. Saha said that two or three days ago, he visited the area and was moved to tears. “Twenty-six innocent people, from children to elderly persons, were brutally murdered at night using AK rifles. There is still anger among the people over that barbaric killing. During the CPM era, 69 people were killed in the south district alone. Every part of Tripura witnessed the terror of murders during that period once before elections and again after elections. I have seen senior CPIM leaders. The so-called philosophical talks they deliver—I would say their rise was built on fear. In their time, slogans of Zindabad echoed constantly, creating an atmosphere of terror,” Dr. Saha said.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were, Hon’ble MP and Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Hon’ble MP and Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee, Hon’ble Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath, BJP general secretaries Amit Rakshit and Bhagaban Das and many others remained present in the event.
