Workshop Cum 7 Day Long Training Program Initiated.

Ampi, Tripura, 23rd of December 2025 : With the initiative of department of Hindi, Government Degree College of Khumulwng workshop cum 7 day long training program on “Entrepreneurship and Skill Development for woman was successfully inaugurated today in the conference hall of GDC, Khumulwng, Tripura West. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about entrepreneurship, self-employment opportunities, skill development initiatives, and the role of government schemes in promoting sustainable livelihoods. The inaugural session was presided over by Dr. Bhupendra Debbarma, principal-in-charge of the college, who delivered the presidential address. In his speech, Dr. Debbarma emphasized over the importance of entrepreneurship and skill development in the present socio-economic context. He highlighted how such training programs empower students to become self-reliant, innovative, and job creators rather than job seekers. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for initiating such a relevant and need-based program.

The chief guest of the programme was Sri Anwar Hussen, finance expert, directorate of skill development, government of Tripura. In his keynote address, Sri Hussen elaborated on various government schemes related to skill development, entrepreneurship, and financial assistance available for aspiring entrepreneurs. He encouraged students to utilize these schemes effectively and stressed the significance of financial literacy, planning, and discipline in entrepreneurial ventures. Sri Pradip Debbarma, assistant professor and head in-charge, department of history, government degree college, Khumulwng, delivered an insightful talk on the role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in promoting entrepreneurship and skill development, especially in rural and tribal areas. He discussed how SHGS contribute to women empowerment, community development, and income generation through collective efforts and skill-based activities. The programme was also graced by Sri Raman Chakma, representative from the directorate of skill education, who shared valuable information regarding skill education programs, vocational training opportunities, and career prospects available for students after acquiring skill-based education.

The entire programme was efficiently coordinated by Smt. Maharani Hrangkhawl, assistant professor and head in-charge, department of Hindi, government degree college, The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sri Daniel Debbarma, assistant professor and head in-charge, department of education, who expressed sincere gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, participants, and organizing committee for their valuable contributions and active participation in making the programme successful.
