Agartala, Tripura, 14th of December, 2025 : The young budding children of Agartala were part of the 54th Vijay Diwas Celebrations, commemorating India’s decisive victory in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. The Indian Army organised a painting competition for school children which will inspire the next generation of patriots by blending artistic expression with the spirit of valor, resilience and national pride.

The theme of the painting competition was 1971 Indo-Pak War : The saga of Valour. The competition was held at Albert Ekka War Memorial for children aged 6-14 years across four age categories and 13 Schools with a total participation of around 400 children. The prizes were for first three winners from each category. A distinguished panel of judges from the fields of art and military evaluated the entries based on creativity and adherence to the theme.

Vijay Diwas, observed annually on December 16th, commemorates India’s decisive victory in the 1971 War, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh. This event aims to instill a sense of patriotism, artistic expression, and historical awareness among the youth of Agartala.

This competition not only fostered artistic talent but also motivated our young minds about India’s rich military history. The children contributed to a legacy of remembrance ensuring the sacrifice of our soldiers are never forgotten. “The Indian Army believes in nurturing creativity alongside values of discipline and patriotism” said an Army spokesperson.
