Youth Electrocuted While Repairing Boundary, Narrowly Escapes Major Mishap.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 19th of March, 2026 : A youth was injured after being electrocuted while repairing the boundary of his house at Nakul Nath Sarani, located on Harichand Road in Padmapur under Ward No. 19 of Dharmanagar Municipal Council.The injured has been identified as Sourav Nath (37), son of Anil Nath. According to reports, a portion of the tin boundary of his house had collapsed due to recent heavy rains.

On Thursday morning, he was repairing it himself when he accidentally came into contact with an electric wire connected to a water pump that had become wet due to rainwater, leading to the electric shock.Sensing the situation, family members immediately switched off the main power supply and brought him to a safe place, preventing a major accident. With the help of locals, Dharmanagar fire service personnel were informed. The firefighters promptly reached the spot, rescued him, and rushed him to Dharmanagar District Hospital for treatment.Family sources stated that his condition is currently stable. Although the incident created panic in the area, locals said that timely action helped avert a serious tragedy.
