10th International Yoga Day Will Be Celebrated Tomorrow At International Fair Ground, Hapania : Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Tinku Roy.

Agartala, 20th of June, 2024 : The 10th International Yoga Day will be celebrated tomorrow across the country as well as in the state. State-wise International Yoga Day celebrations will be organized at The International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala. There students of various schools, volunteers of CRPF, BSF, TSR along with NSS will participate in Yoga,  Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Labour Minister Tinku Roy said at the press conference today (20th June, 2024).

In the press conference, the Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education Minister also added that on September 27, 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the necessity of observing Yoga Day at the United Nations and demanded to observe Yoga Day on June 21 at the international level. Honoring the thoughts of the Prime Minister, the United Nations declared June 21 every year as the International Day of Yoga.

International Yoga Day is celebrated every year in the state as well as at the district headquarters, sub-division and block levels. Sports Minister also added, realizing the importance of yoga in keeping the mind and body healthy, the State Government has included yoga in the Tripura Sports Policy. Yoga has been introduced in various schools as well as various centers run by the Sports Department in the State.

This year the yoga event of the Of Khelo India University Games was organized in the state. The State of Tripura secured the second position. Also increasing the reputation of the state by participating in all India Level Children’s Yoga Competitions. In the press conference, the Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty said that tomorrow, besides the state-based International Yoga Day programme, a special discussion has been organized on increasing millet production and awareness.
