124 BN CRPF Observed 79th Independence Day With Dignity.

Agartala, Tripura, 15th of August 2025 : On the momentous occasion of the 79th Independence Day of India, 124 Bn CRPF organized a plantation drive at Shaheed Bhagat Singh English Medium H/S School, Agartala under the guidance of Sh. Ravish Kumar, Commandant. The event was aimed at promoting environmental awareness and contributing towards a greener future among the students and the local communities. It is pertinent to note here that with this plantation drive as well as the ones carried out at various locations by the service companies, the Unit target has been achieved.

Speaking on the occasion, Commandant 124 Bn CRPF emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and exhorted students and staffs of the school to inculcate and advocate environmental awareness.

Moreover, as a part of Drug Awareness Campaign, Shri Kumar pointed out that abuse of drugs harm not only the individual but adversely affect the society and country as a whole. Whereas CRPF has also been heavily involved with civil counterparts to curb Drug menace, the student community and society have an important role to play.

Under Har Ghar Tiranga banner, a special visit was made to Apna Ghar Abalamban, a local Old Age Home in Barjala, Agartala. Besides member of the Force, lady wives of the Unit also participated with fervor. Warm and enthusiastic, fifty boarders and ten staffs displayed strong sense of participation in the Campaign. Established since 1989, the Old Age Home was adorned with Tiranga and distributions of flags and freshly prepared edibles were done by the visiting members. Shri Ravish Kumar expressed that it was an honor to celebrate Independence Day with the elderly residents and thanked the management for their overwhelming support which made the initiative fruitful.

The day began at Unit Quarter guard with all regimental do in full display, distribution of Commendation Discs and Certificate ended with an inspiring interaction and sharing of goodwill with senior citizens who otherwise could not have venture out on their own.
