15 Days Handloom Training Completed.

Fifteen days handloom training has been completed on Monday (13th June, 2022). With the initiative of the Non Timber Forest Produce Centre of Excellence of Gandhigram, Tripura a fifteen days long handloom training programme has been conducted here in Salka Mini CCFC under Teliamura forest range in Khowai district, Tripura. As per the report, under the guidance & supervision of​ Subhasish Datta, Training and capacity building officer of the concerned forest department this​ handloom training programme had been commenced from 27th of May and accomplished on 13th of June 2022. According to the instruction of the concerned departmental director Prabin Agarwal this handloom training programme has been organized to generate a durable income source for the poor villagers. Sources said that total 20 beneficiaries have taken participation in this generous training programme from that locality.

The motive of this long durable training programme was to teach the villagers all kinds of techniques of handloom management to make different kinds of cloths like napkin, risa, pachra and other tribal traditional costumes with handloom. The resource persons of the programme have imparted various implementing skills of handloom related and inspired the village beneficiaries to accept this project to create a family income source. As per the locals, the village beneficiaries were found interested over this project and they have taken determination to be engaged with this handloom industry. The villagers have appreciated this philanthropic initiative of the​ department and thanked the organizer authority for their good endeavor.
