With the initiative of Southern region’s reputed Club Unnayan Sangha, A. D. Nagar celebrated the 162nd Rabindra Jayanti in the Club premises on Tuesday (9th May, 2023). On this auspicious occasion, in the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has inaugurated the Rabindranath Tagore Library (Rabindranath Tagore Pathagar) in club premises.
In the occasion of 162nd Rabindra Jayanti and inauguration ceremony of Rabindranath Tagore Library Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, Rabindranath Tagore is one of the great poets of Indian culture. He is present in every aspect of our social life. Novels, short stories, dramas, poems, music, various essays, paintings, etc. If we can accept the meaning of the immortal creation of poet Rabindranath Tagore in our life, then our life will be fulfilled. The Chief Minister also added that two songs composed by poet Rabindranath Tagore have been given the status of national anthems of the two countries, India and Bangladesh. The poet came to Tripura seven times. His creations Rajarshi, Mukut, Visarjan about Tripura have also been translated into various languages.
On this auspicious occasion Unnayan Sangha have presented attractive cultural programmes likes music, dance, song, and Arts competitions etc to beautify the ceremony.
Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Partha Sarkar Secretary of Unnayan Sangha delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Abhijit Mallik Chairman of South Zone, AMC, Tapas Bhattacharjee, Chairman of Minority Cell Development Corporation Ltd., Social Activist Sanjay Saha, Pranab Saha President of Unnayan Sangha and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
