5 Families Demand Justice For Constant Harrasment.         

Ampi, Tripura, 23rd of May 2025 : Being despair for constant unbearable sufferings 5 families living in Ampi South Colony under Ampi nagar block in Gomati Tripura has raised stronger allegation against the informal national high way implementation in Ampi South Colony. As per the report, after rain these families have to run away in search of safety place with their all family members and children though it may be day, night or midnight. Sources said, the high way construction authority has blocked the former rain water passing canal with soil and as a consequence rain water does find way to pass and making large dirty water body which submerge public living houses. After heavy rain dirty water with mud lodging widely and submerge villagers’ houses even at midnight when family members are unable to move in the dark in rain. Victim families can not stay, sleep, cook or move in their own residence. Dirty water spoils all household articles and compel families to leave their houses.

Sanjoy Acharjee, an inhabitant of South Colony said, “The construction agency did not keep rain water passing canal, they are constructing the road in informal way and generating heavy harrassment for innocent poor villagers. One box culvert is immediately required to pass rain water nearby our house.  We have no money to clean this high way mud or remove this dirty garbage from our houses.” Due to heavy rain national high way construction sides are creating big problem for those villagers who are residing closed to high way construction areas. Villagers have raised allegation that the concerned construction agency does not maintain proper safety procedure to implement their work as a consequence innocent villagers are suffering much and becoming victim of high way loose soil. Without proper rain water passing management they are running high way work; keeping loose soil here and there. After heavy rain high heaps of loose soil are flowing with water tide and entering into villagers’ house directly. The concerned road construction authority does not take any affective initiative to reduce the public sufferings that are coming for their informal road construction implementation.

After rain construction loose soil has entered into the house of Sanjoy Acharjee, Sushanta Acharjee, Satyajit Acharjee, Bashana Acharjee, Milan Acharjee and spoilt their household articles, living room, bad room, kitchen. Very thick layer of mud  has been removed by their own money and expressed deep grief that no administrators have given them any financial assistance. He has insisted that more critical situation is waiting to come if box culvert is not constructed. Due to high way loose soil collapsed villagers are in great distress. The common people have drawn the attention of the administration and sought proper solution of this constant harassment of the high way construction which is making villagers homeless at midnight.
