Public Suffering Due To Dilapidated Road Conditions, MLA Raises Demand For Immediate Repair.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 7th of February, 2026 : Public inconvenience has reached a critical level due to the deplorable condition of the road from D.K. Road to Sripur Rice Mill under the Dharmanagar subdivision. Raising strong demands for urgent repair and reconstruction of the road, Jubarajnagar constituency MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath submitted a written representation to the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department.In his memorandum, the MLA pointed out that although the road was repaired nearly a year ago, it has since suffered severe damage at multiple locations.

In several stretches, the road has sunk by one to two feet, while major breakages spanning eight to ten feet have developed, posing a serious risk of accidents at any time. He further emphasized that this road is the only connecting route to the Dewanpasha Industrial Area, and its poor condition has severely disrupted normal industrial activities. As a result, industrial operations, trade, business, and employment opportunities are being adversely affected.MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath urged the administration to immediately intervene and take necessary steps for the reconstruction and upgradation of the road in accordance with national highway standards, along with obtaining required technical approvals. He also warned that if prompt and effective action is not taken, the matter would be brought to the attention of higher authorities.
