Dharmanagar, Tripura, 17th of February, 2026 : Alleging that innocent tribal brothers and sisters have been misled in the name of “Tipraland” and “Greater Tipraland,” Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha delivered a sharp message at a massive tribal gathering held in Demdum of Unakoti district on Tuesday. He said that instead of focusing on development, certain groups were indulging in emotional politics and attempting to misguide tribal society.Addressing the rally, the Chief Minister claimed that while in power in the ADC, development had been reduced to a farce. He further alleged that attempts were being made to obstruct the BJP’s progress by undermining democracy—through attacks on vehicles, assaults on houses, and incidents of removing party flags to create an atmosphere of unrest.

He also stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) cannot be halted. Reiterating his commitment to building a “Viksit Tripura” in coordination with the ADC, the Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the state government for the development of education, healthcare, connectivity, and infrastructure in tribal-dominated areas.

Other party leaders present at the gathering asserted that the current state government is sincerely working for the holistic development of tribal communities and urged people to remain united against divisive politics.

According to party sources, a total of 215 voters from various political parties joined the Bharatiya Janata Party during the event. The Chief Minister welcomed them by handing over party flags and called upon them to work collectively for development. The rally witnessed a festive atmosphere in the Demdum area amid tight security arrangements. The political circles have since been abuzz with discussions surrounding the significance of this public meeting.
