Dharmanagar, Tripura, 17th of February, 2026 : The two-day Annual Sports Meet 2026 was ceremoniously inaugurated on 17 February at the historic Dharmanagar Government Degree College in North Tripura. Organized by the college’s Department of Physical Education, the sports competitions will be held on 17 and 18 February within the college campus.The inauguration ceremony was graced by the District Magistrate of North Tripura, Chandni Chandran, as the Chief Guest. She formally declared the event open by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the students, she emphasized that alongside academic pursuits, sports play a vital role in the mental and physical development of students. She highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline, team spirit, and leadership qualities among young learners.The programme was attended by the Principal of the college, faculty members from various departments, invited guests, and other distinguished personalities. A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the sporting events.Several competitions will be conducted across multiple events during the two-day sports festival.
