Mumbai, Maharashtra, 19th of February 2026 : In a rapidly evolving India, where youth energy and technological advancement dominate the narrative, an equally significant reality is unfolding — the country’s senior citizen population is growing at an unprecedented pace. Currently, India is home to approximately 156–160 million people aged 60 and above, and this number is projected to exceed 340 million by 2050.

At the same time, the country has nearly 18,000 organized senior living facilities, many of which struggle with inadequate infrastructure and limited care resources. In the coming years, the demand is expected to rise sharply, reaching an estimated 2.3 to 2.5 million senior living units — a challenge that calls for urgent attention and collective action.
At a time when statistics may raise concern, compassion and commitment offer hope. In this spirit, Dr. Mukesh Batra, Padma Shri awardee and Founder-Chairman of the Dr. Batra’s® Group of Companies, set an inspiring example through the 14th edition of his much-anticipated annual musical event, “Yadon Ki Bahaar” (A Blossom of Memories), dedicated to the welfare of the elderly.
The musical evening was held at the Y. B. Chavan Auditorium in Nariman Point, Mumbai, and witnessed the presence of over 550 music lovers and philanthropists. The primary objective of the event was to support the elderly widows residing at “The Shepherd Widows Home.”
Through soulful renditions of timeless classics from India’s golden era of music, Dr. Batra not only revived cherished memories but also conveyed a powerful message of empathy and service.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Batra emphasized that the elderly deserve not just care, but companionship, dignity, and a sense of belonging. He reiterated that compassion knows no boundaries and that every individual can contribute meaningfully — whether through time, resources, or talent.
This musical initiative stands as more than just a cultural event; it reflects a heartfelt commitment to honoring and uplifting the senior members of society. Through melody and meaning, Dr. Mukesh Batra has demonstrated how art, when guided by purpose, can become a powerful force for social good.
