CPIM Delegation Meets Family Of Two Brothers Murdered In Baruakandi.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 21st of October, 2026 : A delegation of the CPI(M) met the family of Joydeep Roy Choudhury and Shubhadeep Roy Choudhury, two brothers from the same family who were murdered in the Baruakandi area under Dharmanagar Sub-division of North Tripura district, on Wednesday. The murder took place at around 10 pm on October 19.

On Wednesday (21st October, 2026) the members of the delegation also visited the crime spot. The delegation included Yubarajnagar MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath, Kurti-Kadamtala MLA Islam Uddin, CPI(M) State Secretariat member Amitabha Datta, Dharmanagar Sub-divisional Secretary Ratan Roy, and other leaders of the party.Later, the members of the delegation met with the Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station, Meena Debbarma. They demanded that those involved in the incident be identified, arrested, and given appropriate punishment as per the law.

In addition, they drew the attention of the police to intensify police patrolling in the concerned area, maintain a peaceful environment, and ensure that no innocent people are harassed or put under pressure in the name of investigation.

It has been learned that the Dharmanagar police have already detained one accused in connection with this brutal murder. The delegation members urged that if anyone else is involved in the incident, they should also be arrested immediately and a fair investigation and justice be ensured.

Meanwhile, the Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station, Meena Debbarma, assured the delegation that the administration will make its best efforts to investigate the incident and that legal action will be taken against the culprits.The CPI(M) delegation demanded maintenance of peace and order in the area and ensuring justice through a speedy investigation into the murder of the two brothers.
