Dharmanagar, Tripura, 7th of March, 2026 : A national seminar on Kokborok language and literature was held on Saturday at Dharmanagar Government Degree College in North Tripura. The seminar was organized by the Department of Kokborok of the college and witnessed notable participation from students, teachers, researchers, and academicians.The seminar was inaugurated by Atul Debbarma, Chairman of the Kokborok Advisory Committee.

Among others present were the college’s in-charge Suman Adhikari, along with other faculty members and distinguished guests. A total of 55 students participated in the seminar.The seminar, titled “Kokborok Language and Literature: Tradition, Change and Preservation,” was held on 7 March in the college conference hall. During the seminar, various scholars, researchers, and speakers delivered important speeches on the history, present status, and future prospects of the Kokborok language.Speakers highlighted that Kokborok language and literature are an important part of Tripura’s cultural heritage.
They emphasized that research, education, and increased social awareness are essential for the preservation and promotion of the language. Professors, researchers, and students from Dharmanagar Degree College participated in the seminar. The discussions focused on different aspects of the development, preservation, and promotion of the Kokborok language among future generations.According to the organizers, such seminars play a significant role in strengthening and enriching Kokborok language and literature.
