Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of March 2026 : In view of the upcoming Assembly by-election, the District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura, Chandni Chandran, convened an important all-party meeting to review election preparedness.The meeting was held at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office in Dharmanagar, with representatives from various recognized political parties in attendance.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on several key aspects to ensure that the election is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
Special emphasis was placed on the infrastructure of polling stations, security arrangements, essential facilities for voters, strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, and maintaining transparency throughout the electoral process.The District Magistrate stated that all preparations are being carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission, and assured that the administration will function with complete neutrality. She also sought cooperation from political party representatives to ensure that the election is conducted without any untoward incidents.
Representatives of various political parties shared their views and suggestions during the meeting. Key issues raised included deployment of additional security forces in certain areas, identification of sensitive polling booths, and increasing voter awareness.At the end of the meeting, the district administration assured that necessary steps would be taken after considering the inputs of all political parties, with the aim of ensuring a peaceful and democratic polling process across North Tripura district.
