Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of April, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Thursday (2nd Apirl, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 6.770 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, at about 11 PM we managed to catch 02 persons namely 1) Sri Samarjit Debbarma (29) S/O- Lt Lal Mohan Debbarma Of Ram Das Thakur Para, PO- Sonaram Para, PS- Sidhai, Dist- West Tripura and 2) Sri Prahlad Chouhan (55) S/O- Lt Bhagelu Chouhan Of Manduli, PO- Karikhana, PS- Lanka, Dist- Noagaon, Assam at parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet of Agartala Railway Station along with total 6.770 Kg full of contraband cannabis in their pitthu bags respectively.
The value of this consignment is Rs- 01 (One Lakh) approx in black market. Accordingly railway police apprehended him and seized the contraband. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026/GRP/022, dtd-02/04/2026, U/S- 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
