Agartala, Tripura, 10th of April 2026 : Some police personnel including Superintendent of Police (SP), Sepahijala district, Bijoy Debbarma were injured in a deadly clash with Tipra Motha Party (TMP) supporters at Lampraikami under Takarjala police station on Friday, sources said.
The incident happened when police tried to disperse TMP supporters from the residence of BJP candidate, Nirmal Debbarma who gathered there to attack his house.
Thousands of TMP supporters attacked the BJP candidate’s house after their supporters were restrained and threatened allegedly by the BJP workers.
After receiving the information, a strong contingent of police led by SP (Sepahijala) Bijoy Debbarma rushed there and came under attack by the violent TMP workers and supporters.
Contacted, District Magistrate (DM), Sepahijala district, Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said a group of people gathered and gheroaed the BJP candidate’s house at Lampraikami under Takarjala police station.
