Dharmanagar, Tripura, 13th of April 2026 : Resentment is growing among residents of Ward No. 3 of Sonarorbasa under Bhagyapur Gram Panchayat in Dharmanagar over the poor condition of a key road in the area. The road stretching from near the residence of Manoranjan Nath, connecting Sonarorbasa SB School to the Banbari area, has remained in a dilapidated state for a long time.According to locals, repair work on the road had begun some time ago but was left incomplete midway.

The soil dumped on the road has turned into mud due to rainfall, making movement extremely difficult. The situation worsens significantly during the monsoon season. From school-going children to daily commuters, everyone is facing severe hardship on a daily basis. A section of residents believes that starting such work during the rainy season was an unwise decision, and leaving it unfinished has only aggravated the problem.
Despite the ongoing difficulties, residents allege that no effective steps have been taken by the authorities so far. It is also reported that many people are hesitant to speak out openly due to fear of influential individuals associated with the ruling party. As a result, uncertainty continues to loom over when a permanent solution to the problem will be achieved, leaving the common people of the area in distress.
