Dharmanagar, Tripura, 20th of April 2026 : A sense of panic has gripped the area after a woman and her young daughter from Ward No. 5 of East Radhapur Gram Panchayat, under Dharmanagar subdivision in North Tripura, went missing under mysterious circumstances.The missing individuals have been identified as Monti Pal (40), wife of Pran Krishna Pal, and their 7-year-old daughter, Reshmi Pal.
According to family sources, last Friday Monti Pal left home with her younger daughter, intending to travel to her parental house in Agartala. They reached Dharmanagar Railway Station, where their presence was last confirmed. Pran Krishna Pal stated that on the same day, his sister-in-law called from Agartala and spoke with Monti Pal, who said she was at Dharmanagar station at the time. However, shortly after that call, her mobile phone was switched off. Since then, there has been no trace of either mother or daughter.
Despite extensive searches by family members among relatives and acquaintances, no information about their whereabouts has been found. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Pran Krishna Pal approached Dharmanagar Police Station and lodged a missing diary.Meanwhile, attempts to review CCTV footage at Dharmanagar Railway Station have reportedly failed, as the cameras have been non-functional for a long time, creating a major obstacle in the investigation. As a result, no clear leads about their movements have been obtained.Police have now initiated an investigation into the matter with due importance. However, no breakthrough has been achieved so far, leaving the family in deep distress.
In this situation, a helpless Pran Krishna Pal has appealed to the public through the media: anyone who has any information regarding Monti Pal or Reshmi Pal is requested to kindly contact 98623 03237 or 75869 49800.Local residents have emphasized the urgent need to restore CCTV systems and strengthen security measures at the railway station and other key areas.The incident has sparked widespread concern and anxiety across the region.
