Agartala, Tripura, 28th of April 2026 : The World Bank and FAO technical team successfully visited the Jora Agri Producer Group (PG) under Maharanipur VC, Mungiakami RD Block, Khowai District today, marking an important step in strengthening livelihood initiatives under TRESP.

The visit saw active participation from block-level officials, DPMU, SPMU, and the Technical Support Agency (TSA), including Mungiakami BDO Sri Avijit Kr. Das, BPM Purba Deb, and other key functionaries. Representatives from the World Bank and FAO—Mr. Erick Zeballos Soruco, Mr. Kamlesh Prasad, Ms. Alessandra Borrello, and Mr. Shouvik Mitra—engaged closely with the field activities.
During the visit, the team reviewed the on-ground implementation of project interventions and interacted directly with PG members to understand their level of participation, livelihood progress, and overall impact. Special emphasis was given to ash gourd cultivation, highlighting successful agricultural practices under the group approach.

The team appreciated the progress achieved and the strong community engagement, while also offering constructive suggestions to further enhance sustainability, market linkage, and effectiveness of TRESP initiatives. The visit concluded on a positive note, reflecting strong coordination among stakeholders and a shared commitment to advancing rural livelihoods in the region.
